An afternoon off...

This afternoon we had some time off and decided to go to a local tack shop then on to Wolf Creek pass, which is a special place. The pic below shows Sophie pretty much at the top of Wolf Creek pass, (the ski buildings are at about 10300 feet and we were way above that...the top of th e summit is about 12500 feet). The poor little car struggled a bit with it's gear changes even with air con off. Interestingly it was only 61degrees F where Sophie is in the pic but when we got back down to the ranch over an hour later at 6pm it was 80 degrees still....

They get a lot of snow here!!
This is the view from the tack shop we went to - Out West - sound familiar west Aucklanders??? It is basically a barn on a ranch with amazing western gear and a fab range of books!!

This is the shop - funny, when we arrived we found almost half the FastTrack course had the same idea and cars just kept arriving...

Looking forward to Ambassador training tomorrow - am going to give Pierson a rest and do nothing as hes quite tired...
getting ready for next week and all the testing!!

  1. It's amazing when you get higher how the air cools isn't it. That tack shop looks very interesting - how cool. Nice you are giving P a day off. Enjoy your last week, and that gorgeous weather.
